Canadian Recreational Yachting Association
About Canadian Recreational Yachting Association
"The Canadian Recreational Yachting Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the training of both sail and power boat operators, on the water, with an emphasis on safe handling and skillful use of pleasure craft. We publish a set of Instructional manuals for students registered to take courses, usually during one-week or more Cruise & Learns, with our member Schools. See our web site: https://crya.org/ for a listing of current certified Schools. Our membership includes highly qualified Sail and Power Instructors who either own their own Recreational Boating School or work for our member Schools. We teach boaters from beginner to offshore capable cruisers.
There is an ongoing demand for qualified Instructors and therefore we hold annual Instructor certification seminars and professional development activities.
As a registered BC Society, we are governed by an 8-member volunteer Board of Directors led by Agathe Gaulin, President; Roger Douglas, Vice-president; Andre Joniec, Treasurer; Andy denOtter, Secretary; David Martin, Instructor Evaluator Coordinator; and Directors: David Almond, Steve Nash, Eric Hameister and Marla Hedman.
