    BCYBA is the province’s premier association for professional yacht brokers and is a proud supporter and member of the Certified Professional Yacht Broker Program.

    BCYBA’s Purpose:

    • Promote cooperation and professionalism among members 
    • Promote and maintain a high standard of conduct among yacht brokers 
    • Provide the boating public greater confidence in yacht brokers
    • Encourage a greater interest in the welfare and safety of the boating public

    Membership Requirements:

    • To join this sector group, a business must be a member in good standing of the BCYBA and Boating BC Association.

     

    BOATER EDUCATION & SAFETY TRAINING COMMITTEE 

    The Boating Education & Safety Training Committee works to ensure that every recreational boater in British Columbia can find the information and programs they need to become competent and enjoy a fun, safe time on the water.

    This sector welcomes Boating BC members from across the industry to engage in dialogue and communication to increase the availability of boating education, safety and training to members of the public who participate in recreational boaters and watersports throughout the region.

    Committee’s Purpose:

    • Promote co-operation between members to expand boating education availability in the region.
    • Act with a co-operative voice on behalf of the industry in its representation to government.
    • Advance industry co-operation to encourage increased availability and awareness among boating safety equipment manufacturers and retailers, boat brokers, service providers, marinas, national and regional safety organizations, and government.
    • Encourage ongoing professional training & education for members who instruct & train the public.
    • Provide a platform/forum for public input where boating education and safety programs are lacking.
    • Promote public communication about available boating education programs in the region.
    • Arrange integrated advertising programs sponsored jointly by government and members.
    • Support member business health and growth.
    • Promote and maintain high standards of operation for all members

    Member Requirements:

    • Be an approved Boating BC member.
    • Comply with all relevant business license and tax requirements as applicable.
    • Understand and comply with all relevant insurance requirements when teaching on-water courses.
    • Comply with all Transport Canada regulations in the delivery of on-water education and training.

    In addition to their Boating BC membership and benefits, members of this sector group also receive a full membership in the Association of Marina Industries  (AMI). AMI is responsible for the AMI Training Institute including the globally  recognized  Certified Marina Manager (CMM) and Certified Marina Operator (CMO) certifications and small topic-specific conferences and webinars, plus the annual AMI Conference & Expo.

    Boating BC and AMI continue to work together to provide marine management training opportunities on the West Coast.

    Member Requirements:

    • Operate a marina in BC.
    • Boating BC member in good standing.
