MARINA WIFI SERVICES

In today’s connected environment, one of the first things boaters look for when they pull into a marina is access to WiFi. Marina operators often struggle to provide reliable WiFi service that is affordable and doesn't require a degree in IT to manage. In this facilitated discussion, different WiFi services will be presented by current marina operators with an opportunity for group questions and discussion.

MARINA RISK MANAGEMENT PLANNING

All marina owners and operators require a sound approach to risk management to prevent unnecessary exposures and liabilities. A thorough risk management plan considers the risk of fire from the presence of combustible materials, environmental risks and natural disasters, and ensures a regular maintenance schedule and appropriate insurance.  By implementing these basic risk management strategies along with an effective training program on the various exposures facing marinas, operators can minimize accidents, losses and costs.

Allan Hart, VP, Coast Claims Insurance Services, + David Jarrett, Partner, Bernard LLP Barristers & Solicitors, will present key considerations in developing a comprehensive risk management plan, followed by a Q&A and group discussion.

OPEN FORUM DISCUSSION

The evening will offer an opportunity to participate in an open forum to discuss issues facing marinas in BC, including access to water and waterfront lease issues. If you have a topic or question you would like to discuss at the seminar, please email info@boatingbc.ca.

STAY + NETWORK!

Be sure to stay and network with fellow members before and after the evening's sessions! Hors d'oeuvres will be served, sponsored by Bernard LLP and a bar will be made available, sponsored by Boating BC Association.
